A few benefits of using an exercise ball

Hey Hope you are well, so for today's post I decided to show you a few exercises you can try out in the exercise ball. The exercise ball can aid in many different benificall exercises which can also help with posture and stability.

Disclaimer (Try these at your own risk , if you have experienced pain, discomfort,shortness of breathe, dizziness, stiffness or any other symptoms please consult your doctor, do not stand on the ball as it is dangerous and use on a smooth, secure flat environment, and consult a physician before embarking on a new fitness regime)

Please do stretch if you do attempt to do any of these exercise, and no fitness plan is complete without having a healthy diet, and of course you can have cheat days as long as you work it off ( should not be saying that but it is the truth ) .  

Cobra stretch -

  • I hold this position for 20-30 seconds and exhale followed by returning to the rest position 
  • As i inhale i tighten my abs and lift my chest off the ball as much as i can and a tight arch in my back
  • keeping my palms flat and arms straight
  • repeating 3 times  

Plank pose -
This ones a tough one as it works the core , i sometimes use my palms and arms straight for more of a work out, but in this case i used my elbows flat on the mat. 
  • i first come on all fours with the ball behind me 
  • once i have my feet on the ball and got my balance  i make sure my hands are shoulder width apart, that is if i am using my hands but in this case i am not, then i would come up in the push up position 
  • in my case i keep a strong form and back straight and hold for 15-30 seconds before resting

Half locust -
  • i first lie on my belly on the ball
  • i role forward so i can put my elbows on the ground , making sure i keep balance
  • Then i lift as high as i can and making sure with my other leg i am on my toes
  • I hold this position for 15-30 seconds before resting 
  • repeating 3 times on each leg

Arm and leg raise -

  • With the ball under my belly i position my hands directly under my shoulders
  • Raising my left leg and left arm i keep a strong form and straight posture while stretching my toes 
  • hold for 15-30 seconds 
  • repeat 3-5 times on each side 

Bridge -

PS: The sun was blazing in my eyes 

  • I lie down with the ball in front of me
  • Lying on the floor with feet hip width apart i place my arms with palms down.
  • Then once i have balance i place my feet on the ball and lift my hips off the ground 
  • hold for 20-30 seconds

Family day out

Hiya, hope your enjoying your day, because I am! Today wasn't so hot neither so cold just perfect to enjoy a family day out to the cannel and a delicious lunch. Although I have to admit I could not finish it all it was sure yummy , as they say " eat like a king in the morning, like a prince in the evening and a peasant at night" , that's so you burn off most of your larger meals throughout the day! Ps : I do treat myself now and again , so do not be afraid as long as you work it off later :p

This is half the table xp I did have my veg ;p

Today's outfit was nothing fancy, I kept it casual with a pair of gladiator sandals which were super comfy. With a navy maxi dress and gold accessories. Have a wonderful day xx

My current diet -breakfast

Any fitness plan is never complete without the appropriate diet. No, diet to me does not mean never to touch another Ben and Jerry's ice cream tub or to eat salad all day, because one , that is not a realistic goal because I love my ice cream and Nando's , and two I need more than salad to keep me going. So I decided to write up a few of my diet regimes for those who asked for it!

Breakfast, firstly is the most important meal of the day, as what you start the day with will determine your energy levels, how your feeling and kick start your metabolism. As you have been fasting for the whole night you need to rehydrated which Is why I start the morning with a cold glass of water or milk.With that I prefer to have some "super foods" from a list of a few micronutrients. (Vital in any diet)  I love to have a bowl of mixed fruits, which you can prepare before had for the rest of the day by putting it in the fridge , adding a bit of lemon so your banana's do not go brown , which s what I do. The fruits I tend to have are -
Blueberries -

  • High in antioxidant 
  • Vitamin c, a and copper
  • Great for immune system and prevent infections
  • Lowers blood cholesterol 
  • Lowers risk of heart disease.   
Strawberries -

  • Vitamin c, potassium ,folic acid
  • Fiber
  • Antioxidant 
  •  Lowers risk of cancer , heart disease and diabetes 
Red grapes

  • Prevents cancer,heart disease
  • Lowers high blood pressure 
  • Lowers chance of Constipation 
  • Vitamin c
  • High water content for hydration 
Bananas -

  • Potassium 
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Improve heart health

These are a few of what I have as for fruits, which also help weight loss as they are low in calories. Although I love fruits I also fluctuate between whole grain oats which I do add fruits or almonds which are a health source of fat. Another option is having boiled eggs which is for me better than fried, with toast brown bread so I get my carbohydrates in. I tend to keep away from "health bars" or "low in fat" bars as they contain preservatives and E numbers which are generally not good compared to having organic natural foods which I find best,  as they maintain their nutrients and vitamins.

Ps: I take my supplements in the morning which are my multivitamin tablets for a healthy immune . Every diet works differently for different people, so try what works best for YOUR body.

Orange sqwash!

Apart from being attacked by a bee who thought i was some sort of exotic orange flower i was having an amazing day with the family! Since i live in England and the weather fluctuates from hot, cold and something in between i thought why not wear something damn bright and colorful.Well yes, wearing bright colours is not for everyone , as we all have our own comfort level but i thought why not, whats the worse that can happen!                                                                                                                                                                 PS-I do not have a neck injury , you might be thinking why i'm holding it like its going to fall off xd
